Our Mission

My name is Cecilia Sandlin and I am an active childcare provider.  Since 2011 I have studied child development classes at YMCA, Chicano Federation, and Southwestern College.  I am bilingual in Spanish. I am married and have one child. I have been studying Montessori for 9 months into a 1-year commitment to get my certification.  I am also certified in CPR and in nutrition.

 

I love it when children can have fun and be healthy. At my home day care I have the advantage of having a safe home and with a fairly large patio that makes good use of space for the children to run and get exercise. There is also a play area and places to draw on the ground with the chalk. Inside my home, I have a large children’s group table we use for eating, studying, and doing art activities such as painting, kneading, and making crafts. I also like taking the children to the neighborhood park to get them out of the daily routine and for them continue to explore the environment around them. Being outdoors allows them to blow off steam and maximize their energy.

 

I have the patience (my best ally) to teach and repeat in English and Spanish (bilingual) the ABC’s, numbers, songs, colors, and children stories.  I also have them write the words in English and Spanish so they can start learning at a young age. 

 

I am very fortunate to have the help of my family and staff. This way I can share a family atmosphere. Each of my staff members have at least 5 years experience in child care and has received child development education. They are trained in infant and adult CPR.  We work as a team and our goal is to make the children feel like my house is a second home.
